I think that Western modern civilization ended up kind of caught in a trap locked in its egoic structure, and based our whole trip on kind of hyperindividualism, accumulation of resources, and so on. And we’ve now reached a point where we can’t go further than that.

Uncreative Writing

With the rise of the Web, writing has met its photography. And by that I mean writing has encountered a situation similar to what happened uh, to painting with the invention of photography. A technology so much better at replicating reality that in order to survive, painting had to ors— or, uh, alter its course radically.

Imaginary London

What I’d like to to look at is alternative versions of London, unbuilt buildings, different structures from fantastical literature (science fiction, that sort of thing), and just see how that reframes the city that we inhabit every day. How it makes us see it with perhaps new eyes.

Selfhood and the Icon

Like mitosis, a copy has the capacity for individual mutation but does not intrinsically affect its parent. A retweet of information is not a duplication nor a shift in scale. A retweet impacts a structural bridge of a networked idea, not the intrinsic idea itself.
